I was a Combat Medic in the Army. After the service, I worked in both private doctor's offices and hospitals. I believe that a good caregiver should be patient, understanding, compassionate, and empathic. Also, caregivers should always treat their clients like one of their family members. I use my good communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with my patients and value strong relationships with their family members. I believe in being responsive and attentive to the needs of my patients. I have a vast knowledge of elderly care and medical practices and am an advocate for the patient. I am familiar with assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts, peg tubes, trachs and technology like glucose monitors, insulin pumps, and injection ports. I can manage medications and appointments.
