About Robert

Experience: 30 yrs

I have been working with families, helping to raise their children for close to 20 years now. I focus on engaging children in many activities and developing lasting relationships. I enjoy my work with children and take great pride in it. I am a fan of outdoor activities and I am familiar with many places to bring children for outings. I am great at organizing and managing schedules for children as well as teaching children to be organized with things like homework. I have worked with families with children of varying ages, twins and children with special needs. I am comfortable and competent with all aspects of child care. In addition to my vast experience and knowledge with childcare, I have raised my, now 19-year-old son, by myself. I live in Everett, where I own my own home and my own reliable car. I have been studying at Bunker Hill Community College for the past 2 years and I plan to continue my education and earn a degree in the Human Services field.

It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Robert, who has been a caregiver for our children for the past nine years. During this time, Robert has consistently demonstrated reliability, kindness, and thoughtfulness, and he has been not only a truly positive presence in our children’s lives, but an integral part of our family’s rhythm. Robert is a natural role model—kind yet firm, able to maintain discipline in a constructive and positive way. He treats children with respect while also teaching them to respect themselves, others, and their responsibilities. His calm and encouraging manner helped our kids feel secure, and his steady guidance supported their independence as they grew. Over the years, Robert’s responsibilities evolved as our children grew older. His duties included picking the kids up from school, preparing lunch, driving to after-school activities, supervising homework, assisting with room cleaning and laundry, and helping keep the kitchen organized and clean. He handled all of these responsibilities with quiet consistency and care, often anticipating what needed to be done before we asked—ensuring that our household ran smoothly. Robert is also quick to adapt. For example, during one of our kid's carpools, Robert was often the one managing real-time changes, such as when a child was suddenly sick or a pickup location changed last minute. He handled these moments calmly and capably, communicating directly with other families and resolving things without needing to involve us. Equally important, Robert brings a deep sense of professionalism and discretion. He naturally aligned with our parenting values—providing structure without rigidity, modeling empathy, and supporting our children’s growth without overstepping. It’s rare to find someone who can reinforce your values while giving children the space to become themselves. He’s also committed to his own growth. Robert is currently working toward a college degree and is a thoughtful poet—qualities that speak to his inner richness and intellectual curiosity. It’s the kind of quiet depth that children feel, even if they can’t name it yet. We have always felt completely at ease knowing that our children were in Robert’s care. He listens, he notices, and he genuinely cares—and our kids have felt that deeply. We would have loved to keep Robert with us for many more years, but as our children have grown, we no longer have enough hours to offer him. Saying goodbye has not been easy. Any family would be truly fortunate to have Robert caring for their children. We recommend him without reservation.
