Good day I am a parent to a 2nd grader in South Pointe . We had a small fitness clinic in midtown NYC for over 25 years until COVID happened. A couple of months ago I got my official diagnosis of ASD. It was liberating yet disorienting. I currently volunteer at and my daughter's school. I am very involved in raising our 7 yr old and show complete attention and acceptance. I avoid discriminating my affection based on bad behavior only. I am also very proactive in sharing with her what to do instead of when she does wrong. Fairness is always emphasized instead of obedience. Results come slowly sometimes but ultimately very rewarding. Patience, kindness, calmness in an assertive way really fills most moments. Children are very intuitive, they just don't know how to express it most times. Hope to share and learn the serenity. TY
