I worked as a caregiver at a residential facility for children with severe physical and mental disabilities. Although my experience was short, I learned a lot. What I learned there was to let the children do what they want and support them. I sometimes make suggestions, but I don't force them. I don't look for results. I look for the process, so patience is necessary. Some children can do it right away, while others take a long time. I believe that children will study on their own if they can find what they like. Therefore, what I can do is create a place where children can find what they like. That is, to broaden their horizons. There are limits to what they can do at home. If their parents allow it, I would like them to go for walks and spend time outside. At my previous workplace, I also provided assistance with bathing, eating, and moving. I also understand chopped and thickened foods. Please let me know if you have any requests.
