I changed careers at 47 cause I wanted to make a difference in someone's life. I worked for 1 1/2 years as a certified nursing assistant in a skilled nursing facility helping our elderly with all aspects of their activities of daily living. I also worked as a mental health therapy aide at the Buffalo psychiatric center for 10 years helping patients that had a bipolar diagnosis to dementia. I took care of my mom the last year of her life. Since being a caregiver with Care. com I've been blessed to have had the opportunity to help 5 people in need. I've helped a gentleman who had Parkinson's disease to an elderly person who was 90 years young. My duties included, medication administration, toileting, bed bathing, feeding, cooking, cleaning, exercising, getting ready for the day, getting ready for bed, take to appointments and most importantly companionship. I treat others the way I want to be treated. God bless
