Richard was not a good fit. He was hired to care for my 62 year old sister in Stage 5 Alhizmers. I saw he previously worked with a female patient so I hired him. I later saw he could not do some of the basic task like wash hair, simple braid hair etc accurately. I then observed him clean my sisters fresh, bleeding, razor cut leg with a dirty dish towel and with no gloves on within an hour of me showing him where all the medical supplies were! He was shown the gloves on day one, this was day five and I had remined him earlier that day and another day, in detail to wear gloves when appropriate . He didn't notify me of the cut and I was in the house, I just walked up and observed him cleaning it with the dirty kitchen towel. He was extremely timely showing up for work and was always professionally dressed. I even bought him his "Richard #. Caregiver" name tag. I let him go after one week because he didn't seem to catch on quickly to the patients hygene needs and give adequate verbal instructions to the patient. I could tell my sister was only pretending to like him. I would recommend to care for males only.
