I have recently started checking in on an elderly (88) woman who lived independently. My duties were: companionship, light housekeeping, stocking the kitchen, and laundry. Unfortunately, she had a stroke and her children have abandoned her. This casual check-in evolved into much more..."claimed" her at the hospital when she was scared and confused after the stroke... coordinating her care when she was moved to Rehabilitation Facility... filing her Medicaid application... and visiting her and monitoring her care. I found all this gratifying. I'm a retired professional, well-travelled, and considered "interesting". (Once fluent in French and still have command of the language!) I'm a fit guy and avid yoga practitioner. I would prefer to provide care to a male - no racial biases and gay is fine. No medical background but willing to monitor medications (no injections, please!) If you have a Loved one that needs companionship - I'm your guy!
