Although I was a classroom teacher for over 25 years, I made a career change and worked as a house manager for elderly folks with autism for 2 years. I handled all aspects of their life, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, made sure they had an active social life, handled their finances, and provided them with the support they needed on a daily basis. I also administered medicine to certain clients and have been trained fully on how to deal with an emergency situation. I'm CPR certified. My philosophy is that the client comes first, and I do everything I can to make them happy, comfortable and safe.
