About Renate

My name is Renate. I am a retired early childhood educator with over 35 years of experience directing preschool programs -- and a true passion for young children in my care. I grew up and studied in Germany, where I earned my Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. After moving to the US with my family, I spent my career leading nationally accredited preschool programs in Fort Myers, Florida and San Diego, California. Before retiring, I had the privilege of directing a school for over 300 children from migrant families. It was some of the most rewarding work of my life, and it shaped me into a more patient, adaptable, and culturally aware caregiver. Every day was a reminder of how much a safe, nurturing environment can change a child's world. I recently spent a year and a half caring for a little boy from infancy through his first days of preschool -- a wonderful reminder of why I love this work so much.
