I have a strong desire to help children whose needs and wants go unseen by society, find their voice, and know their value. In 2018 I was a live-in caretaker for a 3-year-old recovering from meningitis who lost his hearing and ability to walk, and talk. I went to all of the therapy appointments, did the exercises with him and learned and taught him sign language. He learned to walk and talk again and is doing great. I also lived as a home aid for a person with vision impairment. I strongly believe in ND affirming practices and trauma informed care. Any challenge we face in life can be overcome with confidence in ourselves and that starts at home.
