After my father took ill with ALS I left my job in hospitality and cared for him full time for two and a half years. I assisted him with his OT and PT daily, trained on all the required equipment that assisted him with breathing, hygiene and personal care. Being paralyzed I learned how to use a hoyer lift. After he passed my mother ended up with a brain tumor. I took care of her as I was taking care of my husband with many health issues. He ended up with an LVAD (left venticular assisted device) It required daily logs of LVAD monitor readings, logs of all his vitals to keep him level and out of danger zones. Maintained and administered his ever changing medicines. I took his INR weekly and reported to Duke hospital. When my husband passed I relocated from North Carolina to The Colony Texas.
