About Rebecca

I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. I participated in dance and gymnastics for over 12 years. I attended Kansas State University for my bachelors degree, Avila University for my teaching degree, and last but not least, I attended Dominican University where I earned my Master's degree in Library and Information Science. Reading has played a large role in my life due in large part to the fact that my mother was an elementary school librarian for over 30 years, as was her mother. So I guess you could say it runs in the family! The ability to read and enjoy books has provided me with so many enjoyable moments and the opportunity to acquire new skills. That's what I'd love to share with students: the ability to read and the excitement that goes with reading and learning from virtually any medium. It's so much more than entertainment - it provides the potential for lifelong learning, and professional and personal growth.
