To Whom It May Concern: I am pleased to have the opportunity to give a reference for Raymond. I have known Ray for almost twenty years, as both a colleague and a coworker. Ray is a hard working individual who is well liked by everyone. Ray earns people s respect because he is responsive, he is a good teacher, and he always follows through on what he says he will do. When Ray was the Assistant Executive Director at the company. I would often resource him as our organization grew. Ray and I worked very successfully on committees together through our industry trade organization. I also would ask Ray to facilitate agency planning and program design sessions when we required an outside facilitator. In January 1999, Ray came to work for a company as Special Projects Director. Our agency had just gone through a growth spurt and we needed someone who could help us design systems to maintain the quality that were proud of. Ray was that person. He set up weekly administrative meetings with an agenda that included all aspects of our business. Ray created methods for inspecting all of the group homes and other environments regularly for cleanliness and safety. He instituted the agency s maintenance request process. He put in place a regular vehicle inspection routine. All of these systems are still in place today in our organization. Ray is an excellent instructor. He has many workshops on leadership, teamwork and problem solving. He researches the subjects and can develop a workshop on any topic you require. While he worked at the company, he offered many training opportunities to our staff and managers including which taught staff how to develop and present a training themselves. We have many trainers in our agency who were taught by Ray and are very proud of the skills that they have developed with his assistance. Ray planned team-building opportunities for managers, he began weekly hikes with some of the men who live in group homes, he taught administrators how to develop and review budgets and he oversaw major renovations to group homes and office space. He has many and various skills and attributes that he brings to the job. Ray was able to make a huge impact during his employment at the company. However, most valuable to me is that the projects Ray established continue on. He left behind the tools we still use. I hope that you give Ray full consideration for a position within your organization. Sincerely, Lisa
