About Rachel

I am a 30-year-old from Syracuse, NY. I have both personal and professional experience caring for those with special needs. Both of my nephews as well as one of my sisters have a variety of special needs. I was a 7th grade math teacher for the Syracuse City School District for the 2014-2015 school year. I co-taught with my special education teacher, as my classes contained students with IEP's. For the three years prior to graduating, I worked at an integrated preschool. During my 3 years there, I worked with children who had autism, cereal palsy, down syndrome, and many other needs. I have experiences with all ages newborns to seniors in high school. I also helped care for my elderly great-grandma who had dementia and could not care for herself. I love the opportunity to care for others of all ages. I live a healthy, balanced, active lifestyle. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, any outdoor activity, yoga and crafting. I love pets (I have a dog of my own) and have a car of my own.
