About Rachel

I have been taking care of children as long as I can remember. My first child care experience was when I was 10 years old and my mother had taken in an infant (during the days) while his mother was earning her degree in college and becoming more established. What I remember most about this experience is that though my mother did take excellent care of the baby, I seemed to take the most level of responsibility and care for him. To this day, he has a very special place in my heart, like an adopted son. My child care experience has been in the form of babysitting on and off through out this past 17 years (I am 31 years old). Sometimes it has been for pay, other times it has simply been for the joy of helping my friends in need. I have watched 5 children at once, and this was an entire week at a time. I stayed with another family's children for two weeks, while the parents had to leave the country. I still occasionally babysit for them whenever they leave the country.
