We originally scheduled tutoring sessions with Rachell for Friday and Saturday. She later requested to reschedule due to travel, which we were willing to accommodate. However, she then asked to change the dates again and expressed that she did not want to accept payment through the Care.com platform, instead requesting cash or CashApp in advance. This created a lot of discomfort, as the focus of our conversations became primarily about money rather than tutoring. For transparency and security, we suggested using the platform’s payment system, and we were not comfortable paying in advance, especially outside of it. Ultimately, we decided to cancel. Clear communication, consistency, and professional use of the agreed platform are very important to us, and unfortunately this experience did not align with those expectations.
