I am looking for a summer position. I have worked as a teacher's aide with students with special needs for 10 years while pursuing my degree in Special Education. I have worked with students with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, and specific learning disabilities among others. I privately tutored a middle school-er with autism, and while I am no longer working for the family, I still keep in touch. I am familiar with assistive technology for communication. My younger brother has Asperger's syndrome as well as an intellectual disability and he has always been my inspiration as he now lives independently and has held a job for several years. I am passionate and compassionate when it comes to children with special needs.
