I started babysitting at age 14 for various families, volunteered with after-school programs throughout high school, taught swimming lessons for 4 years and coached swim team for one year, worked at a preschool as a teaching assistant, and over this summer I have been working at a learning center with kids ages 0-14! My skills include attentiveness, problem-solving, and the ability to create a fun, safe environment for kids. In my spare time, I spend time outdoors rock climbing, hiking, etc., I crochet, read, and play board games, and I love walking my dog and taking him to dog parks! One thing you should know about me is that I truly have a passion for child care and education. I absolutely love working with kids and I plan to pursue a career in teaching after I finish my degree.

Rachel is the baby whisperer! She’s so great with our 13 month old son. He’s really only used to his parents and a few other people since he’s never been in daycare, and we don’t have family here, but he took to Rachel right away! He has his molar teeth coming in and has been fussy and has mom separation anxiety, but she was so patient and calm with him and got him distracted and laughing and playing. I trust her with his care as she’s also very attentive, keeps me informed throughout the day, and it’s obvious she really enjoys working with kids. We are so glad we found her.
