About Rachel

I am a doctoral student at the UofM looking for extra cash and sweet pets. I'm very flexible and easy going, and my experience spans mammals to lizards and insects. My work as a biologist landed me with two abandoned pets - I do end of life care for a 26-year-old tarantula and I have a 9-year-old lizard. I have volunteered in animal shelters for 12 yrs and have fostered cats and kittens for 8 yrs, so I'm comfortable with creatures of most temperaments and have a lot of experience grooming cats, cutting their nails, applying flea and tick treatments, as well as litter box training. I have taken care of friendly and energetic cats, wary cats, and cats that want nothing to do with me. Each personality is makes taking care of them such a treat! Because of my current schedule, I prefer to take care of cats as opposed to drop in dog-walking. I grew up with a Jack Russell Terrier and a German Shepard mix, so I have plenty of experience meeting energetic dogs where they are at.
