About Rachel

Over the past 10 years, I have babysat for numerous families. The children's ages have ranged from newborns to teenagers. I watched and cared for the children, handled meal prep, laundry and housekeeping, tutored, handled after school activities, drop offs/pickups, errand running, and kept the kids entertained during summer months. My idea of entertaining children is not plopping them in front of a television all day. I enjoy doing arts and crafts, singing and dancing, reading to/with children, and being outside. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Baltimore in 2018. My schedule is highly flexible. I prefer something full-time. My last job was about 10 months long caring for a 3-month-old girl and her 3. 5-year-old brother. My responsibilities ranged from the typical playtime and bottle feeding to getting her on a nap schedule to sick care as well. There were many more duties, and other job experiences, that I would be happy to discuss in more detail in interviews.

Rachel was great! She cared for our 5 year old son from September 2020 - June 2021. During this time she provided childcare, and oversaw "virtual Kindergarten" during the pandemic. Rachel has many strengths as a nanny and an educator. She is super responsible and was punctual 100% of the time. She never called out, except for one time for a legitimate family emergency. She is extremely detail-oriented, and our son's homework assignments were submitted correctly and on time every single day (and I didn't have to deal with it!) She kept track of special meetings, schedule changes, and was great at relaying messages from the teachers. She kept detailed notes about our son's daily activities, behavior, and food intake (per our request), and it was so helpful to read her daily summaries! Rachel was a great communicator, and was excellent at following our lead on discipline and managing difficult situations. We recommend Rachel unconditionally and miss her!!
