About Rachel

Rachel (known lovingly as Memory by our family) has been our incredible full-time nanny for the past year+, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. We would keep her with our family forever if we could, but with all three of our children now school-age, we will no longer need the same level of childcare starting this fall. Any family would be incredibly lucky to have Memory choose them. Our children are happier, smarter, kinder, and more confident because of the time they have spent with her. We have three energetic kids, ages 2 to 7, and she manages all three with more patience and creativity than my husband and I often can. She has met each child exactly where they are and helped them grow — from potty training our 2-year-old, to helping our 5-year-old prepare for kindergarten, to playing tag and keeping up with our energetic first grader. When we first hired Memory, we were in the process of moving homes - a crazy first few weeks which included Memory spending some time at my in-laws home with the kids. Memory jumped right in and was completely unfazed and helped make that period much less stressful for everyone involved. Memory is, first and foremost, deeply loving, nurturing, and kind. In a relatively short time, she has become part of our family. Our kids include her in family portraits, tell us how much they miss her as soon as she leaves on Fridays, and count down the days until she comes back. She engages with each child with love and respect and treats them as capable little humans. She entertains every question, takes time for conversation, sparks their curiosity, and supports their development in ways both big and small. She is also very active, creative, and inspires a love of the outdoors and nature. She is always getting the kids outside (to the beach, nature trails, local farms, playgrounds - and library and indoor gyms on rainy days). She’s helped the kids make friends in their new neighborhood, welcoming other kids into their outdoor games and arranging play dates. Somehow, Memory balances her extraordinary gifts with children with being an incredible partner to us as parents. She is impressively reliable, punctual and dependable. We have struggled with finding reliable childcare since becoming parents, and we have never had someone we could count on the way we can count on Memory. She brings her own ideas for how to support the kids, while always honoring and prioritizing any requests we make. She sees our kids at their best and their worst - and she always lifts up their strengths while remaining completely unfazed during the challenging moments. She handles every situation with calm and compassion and consistently brings out the best in them. Memory is an incredible human and role model for our kids, and we know she will have a lasting impact on the people they become. We recommend her wholeheartedly and without hesitation. Any family would be incredibly fortunate to have her in their lives
