I am an experienced dog person, and have always had dogs in my life. Honestly, I'd choose to spend time with dogs, over most people. I see every moment with them as a training (& learning) opportunity. I'm especially big on loose leash walking and helping dogs and people learn this, if they don't already know it. To me, this is absolutely foundational, and helps down the road. I'm looking for a way to get more time with dogs.
