About Rachael

I'd describe my personality as energetic, creative, and kind I like working with kids because they bring a sense of wonder and excitement into the world. I'm looking for a job that allows me to do what I love which is care for babies/children. I started working with kids when I was 13. Started in the nursery of the church that my parents attended, and grew to part time jobs at local daycare centers, then full time after finishing school, and then working with families as their nanny. I am currently and have been a postpartum doula for the past 7 years working mainly with newborns. In my spare time, I like to hike, paint, sew, antiquing and exploring the world with my children and dog. One thing you should know about me is I show empathy for people. My skills include encouraging children to feel what they are feeling and to talk about it or express it in a safe way. I am CPR and first aid certified and I can multi task well.
