Experience: 21 yrs
I started my career in childcare 20 years ago, through various childcare roles. I transitioned from a Lead Toddler Teacher back to nannying in 2021 because I enjoy supporting children's development as they grow, in a one-on-one setting. I have experience with children aged 3 months to 12 years. I have an associates degree in Early Childhood Education and three Washington State Stackable ECE certificates. While obtaining my education, my infant/toddler knowledge and skills were recognized by the lead of the ECE department at the college, including my ability to create age-appropriate educational activities and a safe, nurturing environment in my toddler classroom. One of my favorite places to play and explore is the outdoors. I also enjoy arts and crafts, sensory, reading, and supporting children in exploration, play, and individual development based on their interests, skills, and abilities.
We were beyond lucky to have Rachael as our nanny for the past two years. From the moment she joined our family, she brought warmth, consistency, and a deep sense of care that went far beyond our expectations. Our children, now 2 and 4, absolutely adore her—and so do we! One of our children had a speech delay and significant potty training challenges, but Rachael navigated every hurdle with remarkable patience, empathy, and grace. She never once seemed overwhelmed, and instead, brought encouragement, structure, and gentle guidance that helped our child grow in confidence and independence. She is incredibly nurturing and played a huge role in teaching both our kids essential social and emotional skills. Her calm, loving presence helped them feel secure, understood, and empowered. She has a natural gift for connecting with young children and meeting them exactly where they are developmentally. We especially appreciated how she aligned with our family’s values and always upheld the routines and boundaries we put in place. She communicated with us regularly, was punctual, dependable, and always respectful of our parenting style. On top of all this, Rachael has a deep love for the outdoors. Our kids learned so much about nature because of her! Whether it was looking for bird nests, digging for worms, or simply watching clouds, she helped them discover wonder in the everyday. If we could keep her forever, we would—but with our children starting school in the fall, we unfortunately no longer need full-time care. That said, we can’t recommend Rachael highly enough. She is the kind of person who becomes part of your family—and we will miss her immensely. Any family would be lucky to have her. Truly.
