About Rachael

Hello there, I was an Elementary School Teacher for 9 years teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. I am a certified teacher K-8. I have worked privately as a tutor, nanny and a house manager. I'd describe my personality as bubbly, energetic and compassionate. I like to make learning fun. I like tutoring because it's important to meet students "where they are at" to find new ways to approach problems & learning. I like helping students to believe in themselves and persevere! I am big on positive affirmations and encouraging small wins! I'm looking for a job that is consistent and utilizes my skills as an educator. In my spare time, I like to read, write, hike, kayak and hang with my cats! I enjoy singing and theater. One thing you should know about me is I am also the Arts Education Coordinator for a local Non Profit Art Studio in Elgin. My skills include reading, math, and computer/tech. Most districts and schools utilize various online programs for learning.
