About Phyllis

Life has prepared me well to be a senior companion. I have a degree in home economics with a major in food and nutrition, which provided me with skills in home management and food preparation. While earning a master's degree in public health, I learned about hygiene and injury prevention. As the medical secretary for a rheumatologist at Duke, I helped many elderly patients by phone with appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and insurance paperwork. I've developed my communication skills by participating in workshops in active listening and conflict resolution. I'm a writer with many interests to share -- reading, arts and crafts, genealogy, and more. I am fully vaccinated and certified in CPR and first aid. I am a patient and compassionate person by nature, and I want to help other people to live happy, healthy lives. It would be an honor and a pleasure to share my skills with you or your loved one.
