About Phillip

I'd describe myself as diligent, patient, scholarly. I like tutoring because children are energetic and challenging. I'm looking for a job that enables me to share love of learning, and prepares youngsters for success. I started tutoring when I was in college. Many dorm residents needed help with studying and having their term papers critiqued. In my spare time, I like to train my dogs, go kayaking, forage for wild plants. I have three adult sons and a daughter. I wrote home education proposals for each of them, every year, til they went on to college. They're all employed and enjoying their careers. My skills include tutoring kinetic learners---children needing to engage their bodies as they learn. I also excel at showing children the practical reasons for learning particular topics. And if someone experiences stress around their lessons, I have a lot of patience and creative problem solving skills.
