My experience with caretaking goes back over 10 years. Before I started working as a Detention Officer I was a Registered Behavioral Therapist for one year, and worked with children (verbal and non-verbal) who had Autism, ADHD, and ADD. They were between the ages of 4-10. Previously, I was a caregiver for adults who were mentally and physically disabled. My responsibilities ranged from assisting with hygiene (bathing, dressing, ect.), preparing meals, feeding, distributing medications, and transportation to activities or programs. I briefly worked as a care giver for the elderly while also working as a waitress in a retirement home.
