I am a compassionate and reliable 55-year-old who has had experience with a 106-year-old Shanghainese woman for 4+years working with IHSS. She had dementia and food aspiration. I provided meals, feeding, medications, cleaning, wound care, stretching exercises, and a strong sense of empathy. I am also fairly strong to lift her up. I have had training on lifting her properly, and 2 times daily nebulizer/O2 machines. I also learned basic Shanghainese and converted Newspapers from English to Chinese to make her time enjoyable at home. I was always there for her medical appointments. On a personal level, I am an avid cook, and I love sports, and I am extremely patient. I used to be a software developer and have realized how meaningful and fulfilling working as a caregiver can be.
