About Petra

I'm an experienced childcare provider with over two decades of experience. For the last decade, I've led the TK Kindergarten Group at a Waldorf School, where I've developed a range of skills that make me an excellent caregiver. I have a passion for nurturing children's creativity and imagination. I provide age-appropriate curriculum, stories, songs, and poems to inspire self-initiated play and imagination. I also love crafting, handwork, coloring, painting, baking, and including children in food preparation. I believe that children are capable beings who thrive best in a daily rhythm and a warm environment. I use RIE methods based on the Magda Gerber approach, which gives children healthy boundaries in which they can freely explore. I'm also a certified structured literacy tutor and use the Orton Gillingham approach to help beginning and struggling readers achieve fluency.
