I have worked for a hospital and did C. N. A. work for many years (retired after 21 years, to move to Ozark). I have assisted in the walking, bathing, dressing, oral care and when necessary, feeding of patients. I also help 3 different families (elderly) in the cleaning and sometimes meal preparations, in their homes. I love to help the elderly and it's fun to learn of their past and things they have an experienced, along life's way. A person would be surprised what they could learn, if they just listened to what the elderly had to say! People tend to think that just because they are old, they don't have feelings. They need to remember, that it takes them awhile to get around, eat and they need to be treated with dignity and respect. Just because they are older doesn't make them any less of a person.
