About Penelope

I like working with kids because I can relate to them. I like to teach, inspire and encourage them. I'm looking for a job that involves caring for children/teens, driving them places, playing with them and helping with homework. I presently work as an aide at a high school for students with disabilities, I have raised 2 daughters of my own and often care for two autistic brothers. I have been babysitting since I was a teen. I have worked at a group home for youths with disabilities and volunteered at Covenant House for young runaways. In my spare time, I like to garden, walk, read and travel. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and all animals. I love being outdoors. One thing you should know about me is I believe that making children feel proud and confident is a priority. My top three childcare skills include playing, teaching and conversation. I also change diapers, feed and bathe.
