I have a hearing disability and my life is very different now, these last 12 years with wearing hearing aids due to being hard of hearing now. It is difficult to be 100% the person I was before, but it has opened my eyes to people with special needs not being different but needing help in different ways, to make their lives as comfortable as everyone's should be in life. Without road bumps, detours, increased frustration levels, anxiety problems, and even closed doors.
