I have opened our home to two people with disabilities, and we are in the process of becoming approved as DOM care providers. This means that we will receive support from the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging and SSI funds to aid in the care of our new friends. We have formed close relationships with our tenants, and I believe they would give me high recommendations for the level of care they are receiving while becoming part of our family. I also work for a lawyer who has guardianship over elderly and disabled people, and am currently working with a woman who has early stages of dementia. Additionally I am an experienced homeschooling mother of 6 children ages 27 to 12, and a piano teacher of 15 years. This means that I am used to thinking about education in "whole life" ways, and would apply all of my knowledge in the nurture and development of people in my care.
