I am a 30-year-old young professional, an M. A. degree holder in Political Science, as well as an experienced substitute teacher across the K-12 general and special education/resource room curricula in the Forest Hills, East Grand Rapids, Lowell, Caledonia, and Thornapple-Kellogg school districts. I can offer support with homework, study/accountability/organizational skills, reading companionship, and/or general mentorship hours after-school and/or on weekends, over school breaks, etc. Subject-wise, I'm comfortable across the K-8 curriculum (if given a bit of time to get up to speed on new math teaching methods). At the high school level, my strengths are writing, editing, English Language Arts, and Social Studies. I also have an innate comfort level and extensive experience supporting students with special needs, given my own personal experiences living with a physical disability (i. e. cerebral palsy). Thus, I am familiar with assistive technologies, academic supports, etc.
