Before university I worked in a nursing home while in technical school, and took "Elderly Care" for one year. I have always had a strong desire and genuine interest in loving people and caring for their suffering. My father was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at 30 years-old, so I grew up caring for him until he passed. I served as a pastor's wife for 30 years and cared for numerous non-ambulatory adults with dementia. I cared for many seniors in their homes throughout the years while pastoring along side my husband. I took care of my own mother for 10 years in my home who was victim of a fall, a stroke, and into a wheelchair and walker.
