My experience being a caregiver really began when I became a big sister, but because family is so important, the role blossomed from there. I am only 5 years older than my sister but 16 years older than my brother, so by the time I moved out my brother would come spend the night at my apartment when he was just a small toddler and mom could catch up on chores. Years later, my mother's health would decline and she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. After a massive surgery to remove her tumor, my sister and I cared for her post op while sharing the responsibility of caring for my brother until mom recovered. Through much determination she did persevere and is still with us today. My brother is now working his first job and my sister has started her own family. These days, I take great pride caring for my nephew whenever I can because it makes me happy when he's healthy and active. I am an avid animal lover and am totally comfortable caring for your pets.
