I have been the primary caregiver for 9 years for my FIL who was a Brittle Type 1 Diabetic of over 50 years. He also had Alzheimer's. Through this process I learned to identify physical and social/emotional needs and make plans to respond to those needs. When it became necessary I hired a team of caregivers and managed tasks/schedules/needs of a team of 3-4 caregivers at a time. I have experience with nutritional needs, CGM'S, glucometers, and insulin pumps. I can care for wounds and follow post-op care instructions. I can help with bathing, toileting and personal care. I can provide social and mental stimulation- I am always looking for activities and tools that can make life more enjoyable! I was a home school mom who graduated 3 lovely young adults, I have a background in retail management and I have taught preschool at my church for more than 15 years.
