Experience: 10 yrs
I received my degree in Child & Geriatric Psychology in 1997. I believe it is imperative to have a stable and loving environment. I have a passion for nurturing adult minds. I am also highly experienced with Dementia/Alzheimers clients. My approach to senior care is centered around patience, creativity, and open communication. I believe in fostering a nurturing environment where seniors feel safe, respected, and encouraged to explore their full potential. As a highly organized and responsible caregiver, I'm adept at managing daily routines, ensuring a balance of activities; companionship; conversation & relaxation. I'm comfortable enforcing household rules while maintaining a positive and nurturing atmosphere. My strengths lie in engaging seniors through a variety of activities, including board games, cards: music and educational games that stimulate their minds & creativity.
I was looking for a caregiver last minute this past Saturday, for my father in law who is 89. We had a family emergencyI contacted Patricia and she was able to help us out on the spot. She can within an hours time. She took care of him from 10am- 9pm last night. Patricia went above and beyond my families expectations not to mention my father in law adored her. He has early on set Alzheimer’s & normally doesn’t do well with new people. She not only cooked for him and gave him his meds & did his vitals. She also logged the times of all that I mentioned but she also did a puzzzle with his and played a Bingo game with him. On top of that she did extra that wasn’t asked of her IE, unloaded the dishwasher and folded clothes that were in the dryer that was running when we left. She fed and let our dogs out and took my father in law with her to walk our dog. They even baked blueberry muffins together. By the time we got home she already had him in bed. I wish she was available more days a week. I definitely will call her again if I need someone on a weekend.
