My first husband, now deceased was a quadriplegic and I visited my mother, four times a year at her retirement home (10 days per visit) in another state, and then spent eight months with her on her journey with Hospice . Whenever I was visiting there were always other residents who needed assistance and sometimes it just meant watching a ballgame together.
