Hello, I'm semi-retired after years of service at MUSC in the field continuing Medical Education as a Program Coordinator. I began caregiving prior to retirement part time. I have previously managed a home with a full 24 hr schedule of caregivers to provide care for a husband and wife with dementia and cancer. During the last 10 years I have cared for patients with Parkinson's, Short term memory loss as well as dementia. My keen intuition to assess and implement the appropriate care in a respectful and compassionate demeanor is of most importance to recipients. I enjoy helping others and find it to be a rewarding addition to my daily life. On a 10 point scale I would give Pam a 20+. She came to care for me when I was recovering from a hospital stay. I credit her with my speedy recovery. She not only knows how to care for a patient's needs but also how to be present in a way that is both inspiring and soothing. Lucky me to have found her.
