Experience: 15 yrs
For over 15 years, I've found immense joy in nurturing children and supporting families. My positive experiences babysitting sparked a passion to provide reliable care and positively impact young lives. I am patient, creative, and approachable. I enjoy outdoor sports, board games, and puzzles. I am comfortable caring for one child. I follow the parents' lead on household rules and communication preferences, providing updates via text, phone, or in person. I am happy to help with cooking, light housekeeping, and swimming supervision. I have a car, I am comfortable with pets, and I am CPR trained. I speak English and Portuguese. I'm eager to bring my experience and caring nature to your family, and I'm excited to create a fun and safe environment for your child to thrive.
It is with both gratitude and sadness that we share this reference for our dear nanny, Palloma, who has been with our family for the past 3½ years. She joined us when our youngest was just four months old, caring for him full-time alongside our then 18-month-old daughter and our 8 year old son. From the very beginning, she became an invaluable part of our family. Palloma provided loving, attentive care through every stage — bottle-feeding pumped milk, introducing solids, creating enriching daily routines, and offering endless affection. Because our children were not in daycare, she made it a priority to help them build social connections through playdates and time with other neighborhood kids. She incorporated learning into their days through colors, shapes, numbers, tracing, and fun, age-appropriate crafts and activities. She consistently ensured their days included outdoor play including (but not limited to) daily walks, time at the park, and opportunities to explore. She safely drove them to appointments and activities, and always gave extra care when they were under the weather. Always comforting them with the same tenderness she would her own children. Palloma prepared fresh, home-cooked meals every day, always including a balance of vegetables, protein, and carbohydrates. She helped keep our household running smoothly by handling the children’s laundry, light chores, morning routines, and making sure the kids were always clean, dressed, and ready for the day (hair done too!) She takes great pride in her work and truly leaves our home better than she found it. Palloma is dependable, trustworthy, and deeply kind. She rarely calls out and always goes above and beyond, whether it’s helping during family trips or simply finding ways to make our days easier. She consistently communicated with us, sharing photos and updates, especially during the early years which something we treasured as working parents. Our children absolutely adore her and we truly could not have navigated the past 3½ years without her steady and loving presence. Though we are parting ways only because our children will all be in school, Palloma will always be part of our family. Any family who has the opportunity to work with her will be incredibly lucky — she is a rare gem and someone we recommend with the highest level of confidence and love!
