About opal

Hello! My name is Opal like the gemstone, I'm a creative, encouraging tutor who believes learning should be meaningful, engaging, and memorable. Through my work with Alphabet Education, I taught American Sign Language, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and beginner Spanish while developing creative ways to help students connect with and retain what they learn. My approach combines communication, creativity, recall, and reflection. I discover what interests each student and use those strengths to make learning come alive through stories, games, role-play, movement, or creative activities that turn concepts into something they can truly remember. I believe confidence grows when students are given space to ask questions, make mistakes, express themselves, and show what they know in their own way. My goal is not simply to help students memorize information, but to empower them with confidence, curiosity, communication skills, and emotional awareness so they can continue to grow and thrive.
