Olivia was hired and helped to take care of our two toddlers. She worked with us for 3 weeks. She was very kind and did a wonderful job with engaging with our children. Unfortunately, there were a few incidents that left us tainted with our experience with her. After one of those incidents, we requested to have a phone conversation with her. There was a lengthy gap (>72 hours) in her communication that impacted our perception of her professionalism. We finally received a text message from her to inform us that she was "quitting". We received this text the day before she was due to return to work. The situation made me question some answers she shared during the interview regarding her professionalism and communication skills. As parents, it is of utmost importance for the caretaker of our children to be not only professional, but responsive and considerate given the adjustments that have to be made when care cannot be provided. All in all, I do wish her the best. My intention in sharing this information is so that another family can ask the right questions before hiring.
