About Olivia

I have always enjoyed working with kids because I love to see them experience the world with fresh eyes and learn new things. I'm looking for fulfilling experience that I'm passionate about and excited to return to. I've got professional experience as a lifeguard teaching swim lessons and as an English teacher through the Peace Corps. Besides that I've been volunteer tutoring and babysitting children K-6 for over a decade whenever I was needed. In my spare time, I like to sew, write, dance, play board games, and walk my dog. I have a good understanding of ADHD and ASD. I usually have a good connection with children with either or both of those conditions and I'm willing to work to build a strong relationship and understand each child as an individual. My skills include my ability to teach/tutor most school subjects in an engaging and understandable way, my methods channeling energy into non-destructive active play, and my imagination and flexibility for pretend play.
