I first started working with kids with disabilities last fall at The Camphill School of North America. It was originally founded in Germany be Rudolph Steiner, founded upon a philosophy he created called Anthroposophy! I have to be honest, it was not what I expected or envisioned when I got there but it was still a wonderful experience I wouldn't regret! At Camphill, I stayed in Glenmoore, PA, that's where the school is located. My position was a Live-In Volunteer. Essentially, we were helping to create a home environment for the kids but also ourselves. Daily tasks included: waking them up, bathing assistance, preparation of meals, paraprofessional work, and more! I did all kinds of things while I was at Camphill and I truly loved being there for those kids! I was so happy to just be apart of that community and be apart of the kids' lives! I was lucky enough to be on the kid's team and help them grow, laugh, and love!
