Experience: 10 yrs
18 years in senior care have solidified my passion for fostering independence and well-being in adults and seniors. My previous roles have been incredibly rewarding, and I am driven to make a positive impact on the lives of those I care for. I am patient, compassionate, and approachable. I believe earning trust is paramount when connecting with a care recipient. I provide services such as errands, shopping, light housekeeping, and dementia care. I can also de-escalate stressful situations, handle confusion or agitation, and incorporate memory care activities. I communicate regularly with families using their preferred method, such as text or phone calls. I have a high school degree, a car, and I'm comfortable with pets. I also have current CPR and First Aid certifications. Knowing I can bring comfort and support to your family is what truly matters to me.
I met Norma when my mother was a resident in a memory care facility where Norma was employed. My mother was a resident for almost three years . Norma cared for my mother, as well as the other residents, as if they were her own family. She went the extra mile and did many things outside of her paid position to help not only my mother, but also me during a very important life transition. Norma called me every week to set up video visits with my mother. She made sure any deliveries I sent arrived and would video call so I could talk & see my mother’s sweet face with her gifts. She also would send random cute videos and photos of my mother at events and even just a random sweet video from time to time of mom doing day to day things -they always came at the perfect time when I was missing her . Norma was always eager and willing to help in any way she possibly could, and she did so on many occasions. I was also blessed to be part of the “Lunch Bunch” that Norma led several times. She took residents out to lunch, and the safety, kindness, and care she gave to each resident was incredibly heartwarming. Watching the residents’ sweet smiles and laughter—including my mother’s—as they sat together, enjoying a meal and lighthearted conversation, is a gift I will forever cherish. I am forever grateful for Norma—not only for the loving care my mother received, but also for the kindness and support she gave me as a daughter. Thank you again ,Norma Patrice
