Hello, my name is Norma and I am searching for a job opportunity in taking care of an elderly person. I have 8 years experience. I first took care of a senior gentleman from 2006-2008 on the weekends, until his family chose to place him in a home. Immediately after I took care of an elderly lady that had suffered a stroke and needed more attention. Along with another worker, I took care of her until she passed away in November of 2012. This past January I accepted another part-time job taking care of a lady with both mental and physical disabilities. I am very detail oriented and hard working. Previous to working in this field, I worked at an SRO apartment building in downtown Los Angeles for 16 years. There I helped a diverse community of people in finding and maintaining a place to live. I spoke with Norma yesterday and arranged for an interview today at noon. I called her several times today when she didn't show up on time. At 1:50 I called her again and she told me she went home. I think it is unprofessional to not even have the courtesy to call and cancel.
