About Nisa

For nearly two decades, I have dedicated my career to supporting children and families through compassionate, attentive care. My background spans education, athletics, and birth work: I began as a 5th grade homeroom teacher, coached high school lacrosse, and trained as a full-spectrum doula before earning my Master's degree in Midwifery. I am currently a Licensed Midwife practicing in Oakland. Throughout this journey, I have consistently worked with families caring for children ages 0-10. My experience allows me to confidently support children at every developmental stage, with particular strength in newborn and infant care. I bring a calm, nurturing presence, along with patience, creativity, and clear, respectful boundary-setting. I am taking a step away from being on call for births and I am looking forward to spending this season working closely with a family and their children. I am CPR &First Aid, and NRP certified, comfortable caring for 1-3 children.
