About Nicole

I'm calm, understanding, and I meet kids where they are. I grew up with a sister that was 6 years younger, and helping her to learn and grow was my favorite thing. Each child has their own purpose and personality that needs their own kind of encouragement, guidance and play. I started working with kids when I was a teenager, babysitting three kids for a family in my neighborhood. I taught kids to swim while I was in high school, and later worked as a lifeguard at a Boys & Girls Club camp. I've taught freshman English composition at SUNY New Paltz. Currently I coach youth swimming two nights a week for a swim club in Pine Bush. I'm a teacher aide in a first grade classroom in New Paltz. I'm in school working towards teacher certification. In my spare time, I like to go for walks, read, make paper crafts, write, sing, and swim. I'm learning to garden and bake, and I love learning new skills in general.
